Hey everyone, it’s me again! Yes I am still sticking to my twice a week posting schedule, it’s amazing isn’t it?! This week, I am even being as organised as to link my two posts – so today you get a review of one of the products I use daily to get my skin looking flawless and then on Wednesday I’m going to give you my complete face make up application routine, so stay tuned for these 🙂
So let’s get started straight away shall we…
The Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer recently made its way into my every day make up bag after I picked it up on a promotion in Boots. (Let me know if you would like a “what’s in my make up bag” post btw!) Anyway, I had read a little about it online and had heard that lots of people thought it was a really good dupe for the Nars Radiant Glow Concealer (not that I have ever tried it because it is way too expensive for Lifestyle for Less HQ!) but I figured if some of these people online who were crazy about expensive products thought it was a good match that it would be more than good enough for me!
If you are considering using this concealer it is definitely worth mentioning before you make you way to the shops that it comes in a really limited range of colours and when I say really limited, I mean like 3 colours, all from the same colour set. I think they are natural, glow and some other cream based colour, so if you are fortunate enough to have even a hint of suntan or are just naturally dark skinned then this probably isn’t going to work for you! For me however, I was able to get a concealer which both covered any skin imperfections and was perfect to use as a lighter base for undereyes as my skin is beyond pale!
At first use it does take a while for the product to come through on the built in brush, but when it does it is so easy to get just the right amount of product application for what you need which is so handy as I always seem to get too much when I am freehanding! When applying the product is creamy and easy to build so feels really nice on the skin and gives a really natural finish and the slight shimmer in the concealer definitely helps to reflect just the right amount of light for a natural dewy addition to an otherwise matte product.
This is probably an even more timely post than normal too as my skin at the moment is awful so you’ll get to see the best representation of the level of coverage of this concealer! (please don’t judge me!)
In regards to price it is less than £5 to pick up and is almost always included in some kind of multi-buy offer at Boots which makes it even better value and with its multiple purposes that really is great value.
So what are the pros and cons:
- Excellent value for money
- Great buildable coverage
- Multi-purpose (undereye, highlight and conceal)
- Creamy formula
- Good product dispenser
- Smells good
- Applies easily and doesn’t finish cakey or dry
- Terrible range of colours
- Could be slightly more product, don’t get loads for your money
And what are the answers to the most important two questions which I ask myself at the end of every review? Yes, I would recommend this product, especially if someone was looking for a good high end dupe and yes I probably will purchase this again, although I still don’t feel like I’ve found my forever concealer yet, but this product is definitely a great one for now and it still gets a solid 4 out of 5 stars from me!
What concealers do you use? I’d love to know to see if there are any others I haven’t tried yet that I could be missing out on 🙂 As always, let me know the answer to that question and whether you enjoyed the blog in the comments below. Oh and while I am here, I also want to say a massive thanks to all of you for getting me to 400 followers on Instagram 🙂 I am over the moon and cannot wait to continue on my quest for 1K, so don’t forget to check it out if you haven already (@Lifestyleforless) 🙂
Lots of love, Leanne xx
